Our lovely little Poppy is just 3 and was diagnosed with syringomyelia last December. She currently takes meds 3 times a day, but I was wondering if anyone here has seen a homeopathic vet for advice about pain relief?

Our beloved cavalier Prince was diagnosed with MVD just over a month ago, this all started when he formed a cough we took him to the vet and they said it could be kennel cough and prescribed Princi with antibiotics after a few days the cough continued I had a fear it was MVD so we took him back to the vet were they did further testing and we were told that he had the heart disease, they gave him Veterdim, Urex, another heart med don't remember the name and a vitamin to take twice a day. Within 5 weeks we lost Prince he was only 6. This week he was coughing alot and had a rapid heartbeat so we took him to the vet they put him in the oxygen machine and they gave him 4 shots of the medication that flushes out fluid in the lungs they called us 3 hours later to say that prince was passing away we rushed to get there but didn't make it in time. Has anyone else experienced Heart failure in young cav?
We miss him everyday he was the joy of our lives RIP my friends. :!cry:

We just lost our Cavalier that we raised and loved for 12 years on December 21st. We got him from a breeder when he was 8 weeks old, he shared our bed. He loved us unconditionally and we loved him with all our heart. Charlie had the sweetest personality. We also have a passion for the Cavalier breed. He started having heart problems about 9 months ago and we did everything we could to help Charlie. We were at his bedside loving and petting him when he passed and went to heaven. It is just me and my husband now and Charlie's little brother, a 4 year old Pomeranian named Ceejay. Anyone who has had the pleasure of a Cavalier in their life has been truly blessed with unconditional love.

Last week we sadly lost our sweet little Alfie. From the age of one he was diagnosed with syringomyelia and we were told it was such a bad case, in such a young dog that we would have to prepare ourselves for the worse. However he proved them wrong and with medication he had a happy life until the last 12 months where he went from having no heart murmur to a heart murmer to heart failure and at 9 years of age past away at home on his bed. We are totally heart broken and have lost our best friend:!cry:. They are a fantastic breed of dog so loving with plenty of charator. Thank you to Caliver Matters for the useful information to help support our beloved friends and to beable to support a worthy cause x

Our king charles cavalier had congested heart failure last week..Heartbroken..However immediately before we took him to the Vet he was walking wagging his tail. the Vet gave him two diurectic injections due to the fluid ...The injections did not help him much they said but here is the question I have...how could Pumpkin been walking wagging his tail and then when they bring him to me after his shots he has no energy and he dies in my lap in the car....He had been having fast heartbeats and breathing issues...but it seems to me the injections given him accelerated his death...I have been having a hard time with this and coulld someone answer my question if the shots could of hastened his death due to the stress from the diuretic shots given him..Thank You so much for your input..Blessings,Diane

Just rescued a 10 year old Cavalier I have named him Marty, after Marty Feldman (anybody out there remember him?) because his eyes are like his. He is the most lovable little guy! He is so sweet and affectionate. I have a rescue chihuahua, and a Lab/Coon hound mix also that he gets along well with.
